Proof of current vaccination for Rabies, Canine Distemper, Canine Parvo virus and Feline FVRCP and required for groom appointments. After June 1, 2012 two additional vaccines will be required for dogs that come to Fondren 5 star Kennels for lodging, grooming , training, day care, dog park or events. An initial dose of Canine Influenza Virus (CIV) vaccine plus a second dose within 2-3 weeks will be required. There after an annual vaccination will be required. To be current for Fondren 5 star Kennels purposes, the Canine Bordetella vaccine will be required every 6 months.

All of our baths and grooms include trimming the nails and expressing the anal glands. Ears are routinely wiped clean and pets are towel dried then fluff dried before brushing. After a cleansing or medicated bath or a deluxe SPA treatment and thorough rinsing, all dogs get toweled dry. Then while still in the tub, directional forced air removes the rinse water from the coat. Fluff drying with a stand dryer or circulating air in a drying cage thoroughly dries the coat and readies the pet for the brush out and final styling. All of the products used for your pet’s groom are recorded by the Groomer on a Groomer’s Worksheet and your choice of style or trim is saved in your pet’s profile for future reference. Our basic shampoo and conditioning creme rinse are BIO-GROOM® products developed and made here in Texas by BIO-DERM Laboratories. An unscented shampoo and conditioner are included in the price for normal bathing and grooming.
Specialized products such as BIO-GROOM® So-Gentle Hypo-Allergenic Shampoo, a tearless and extremely mild, soap free cleansing treatment for pets with allergies or sensitive skin are available for an additional fee or through our retail sales area. For pets with dry, irritated and itchy skin we recommend a soothing BIO-GROOM® Oatmeal Shampoo. This shampoo works as a natural cleanser and cleans the skin without chemicals plus has unique conditioners that moisturize the skin. We also have BIO-GROOM® flea and tick treatments plus additional topical products to help control these common pests as well as oils and lotions to protect long coats and prevent tangles. If you’re not sure which grooming product or tool to use on your pet, ask our our experienced groomers to show you step by step how to care for your pet’s coat at home between your regular groom appointments. They are always happy to suggest the most flattering pet or show trim and will provide tips for coat maintenance between regular grooms.
