Dog Training

Obedience Lasts a Lifetime!

Whether you have a new puppy or an adult dog, Obedience Training can enhance the quality of life for both you and your pet.  Fondren 5 star Kennels is committed to helping you train your dog to be a companion pet.

What a joy to have a dog that behaves consistently in the same socially accepted manner whether at home or out in public.

In our training classes we share with you methods of delivering clear concise instructions along with provisions for developmental conditioning and reinforcement through positive motivation.

Teaching a pet to be an obedient companion does take a commitment of resources.

We believe that your return on this investment will make living with your pet more enjoyable for all involved and while your resources are targeted during the training period, the results last a lifetime.

Our indoor, climate controlled training center is available for individual or group classes as well as specialized lessons, practice sessions, seminars and performance activities such as Agility, Rally Obedience, Fly Ball, Frisbee and Freestyle (a choreographed series of dog and handler movements set to music).

OTHER GROUP CLASSES:
Advanced group classes and practice sessions meet for an hour each week in sets of  five sessions.  Qualified dogs that have advanced from Novice and Intermediate and desire to train for Competition are welcome.  After completing a Novice Training Class, on going practice sessions can be scheduled.   Practice dates do not need to be consecutive but must be completed with in 60 days.

CONFORMATION
This weekly instruction by A.K.C. Conformation Judge Judy Brown, is for  pure bred dogs (Puppies and Adults with proof of vaccinations) to condition them to the demands of the dog show ring.  Show dogs must represent all aspects of their individual breeds and must know how to exhibit their qualities to their benefit.  Show dog handlers must also know the rules and regulations that apply to dog shows.  Conformation class is open to those just starting in the world of Show Dogs as well as the seasoned breeder or professional handler bringing out their pick of the litter who is just learning to walk on lead or stand on the exam table.

The conformation class teaches the dog/handler team to display  natural confidence  while waiting their turn in the judging ring, around other dogs and handlers and while allowing a qualified stranger to inspect and evaluate them.  A show collar, show lead and tasty treats are all that is needed.  Every Wednesday night from 8-9pm.  Adult and Junior handlers welcome!

FRISBEE / FLY BALL / FREESTYLE
For qualified dogs with emphasis on attention work and movement. These group classes meet for an hour each week for a period of five consecutive weeks after which participants may choose to enroll in on going  practice sessions.    Call 281-835-4445 for information and enrollment requirements.
